Established over 40 years ago, Mayday provides an extensive range of technology services for organisations from small family-run businesses to multinationals. They focus on providing IT support, maintenance, training, network design and project management. Mayday is also East Anglia’s largest independent supplier of managed print solutions and recognised as one of the region’s Future 50 businesses, with ambitious expansions plans following a recent management buyout.

The Challenge

As an IT provider, Mayday was keen to provide their clients with a highly resilient colocation and disaster recovery solution for their IT and data. They wanted a highly cost-effective solution which they could use to attract customers and create a further revenue stream. Above all, the service needed to provide a high level of protection and flexibility, including subsequently migrating their Direct Internet Access to a dedicated provider of their choice.

The Solution

Initially, we helped Mayday establish a server in our dedicated client test room with which they could assess the protection and service MIGSOLV deliver. Thoroughly impressed, they expanded into dedicated rack space in our data hall and migrated across theirs and their client’s servers.

Our data centre offers Mayday multi-layered security, including 24/7 security guards, iris recognition, N+1 protection of all services, climate control and an Uninterrupted Power Supply with 8 days self-generated power.

Of particular value to Mayday and their clients is our Service Desk team. Our ‘Smart Hands’ service ensures highly-skilled staff are on site 24/7 to monitor equipment and make changes on the client’s behalf.

We’ve been able to seamlessly facilitate Maydays migration to a third-party Direct Internet Access provider of their choice, which has increased connectivity through our carrier-neutral and dedicated links to major peering points.
