Much of financial services company Provident Financial’s recent growth has been derived from launching its home credit services in new, international markets. The company began researching opportunities overseas in the mid-1990s and from its first customer in Poland in 1997, the international division has grown dramatically.
Nine years on, it has more customers than the UK home credit business and contributes 25% to group profits. When expansion plans called for Provident Financial to cross the Atlantic and start-up in Mexico they commissioned MigSolv to help them identify the best data centre solution.
MigSolv worked with Provident Financial’s management teams in the UK and Mexico and established that its data centre requirements were best outsourced.
MigSolv then provided a specification for the outsource requirement and worked with Provident Financial to short-list providers and identify and engage the right partner.
MigSolv experience of Provident Financial International’s business and the Central American market helped in securing an advantageous and sustainable agreement with a the preferred provider of a managed data centre. Subsequently, MigSolv has been retained by Provident Financial’s European operations to conduct a similar exercise for its data centre requirements in Central Europe.
