Looking for short term and longer term options for their computer room, MigSolv were asked to carry out an audit of our client’s existing facility to give them view on the state of their data centre to get independent advice for immediate and future improvements.

MigSolv carried out a thorough audit covering areas including:

The report provided MigSolv’s client with detailed information on the facility, areas of risk, and recommendations on how to improve the resilience and efficiency of the computer room.

Typically, the majority of the recommendations in the report could be carried out for little or no cost, requiring time from the in-house IT team to carry out the required work.  Those recommendations requiring major upheaval to the existing facility and potential down time of business critical systems have been scheduled.

The MigSolv data centre and computer room audit looks at more than just power and cooling.  A data centre or computer room must have efficient operational practices, appropriate fire protection and suppression, and be housed in a suitable environment.

The client, with the recommendations from the audit report was able to reduce their computer room running costs immediately by carrying out some simple but effective changes.
