Our Credentials

Information Age Awards
Recognising that computer rooms and data centres are significant users of power, and therefore responsible for CO2 emissions, Migration Solutions developed a tool for measuring and improving the environmental impact of data centres and computer rooms.
Called an Environmental Report and Assessment, (ERA), the tool is used to assess every aspect of a data centre from construction, through to air flows, through process and procedure to power and cooling.
The ERA was the first industry standard tool to provide a 360 degree view of the environmental impact of computer rooms and data centres. In recognition of the value of the ERA, MigSolv won the Information Age Award for Data Centre Innovation. The awards are voted for online by peers, customers and readers of Information Age and are highly valued within the industry.

The Green Grid Member
The environmental impact of data centres and computer rooms is significant. Whilst data centres and computer rooms are huge users of power, much can be done to reduce and minimise their impact on the environment.
MigSolv is proud to be a member of The Green Grid a global consortium of IT companies and professionals seeking to improve energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems around the globe.

EU Code of Conduct
In the European Union, the Joint Research Centre consulted with key members of the Data Centre Industry during 2007 and 2008 to produce the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres Energy Efficiency.
This is a voluntary code that organisations can participate in, (for data centre owners and operators), or become endorsers of, (for consultancies such as MigSolv).

DCE Best Technical Manager
MigSolv was delighted at an early stage to become an Endorser of the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres Energy Efficiency.
MigSolv’s Project Management skills, specific to the data centre and computer room industry, are appreciated by our clients and our peers and led the company to be voted ‘Best Technical Project Management Company 2007′ at the prestigious Data Centres Europe Awards.
Since winning the award in 2007, MigSolv’s Managing Director, Alex Rabbetts, has been a member of the judging panel for the awards which are awarded in recognition of excellence within the data centre industry.

ISO 9001 – Quality Management
MigSolv is accredited to ISO 9001 for the entirety of its business. The standard is customer focused and prescribes systematic controls of activities to ensure that customers’ needs and expectations are met.
ISO 14001 – Environmental Management
Having our organisation accreditation to ISO14001 helps our customers meet their Corporation Social Responsibility objectives. For example we have built our data centre to be as environmentally focused as possible. Amongst other initiatives we have installed LED lighting throughout (saving 90% energy use for lighting) and by installing free cooling plant as this provides over 300 days of cooling per year to the installed IT equipment without running the chillers.
All these initiatives allow our clients to also benefit from the work we are undertaking to meet the requirements of our accreditation.

ISO 27001 – Information Security
MigSolv has achieved the Information Security ISO27001 accreditation, an international standard that has been written to provide a model for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving an Information Security Management System (ISMS). Our data centre hosting site is externally audited both internally and externally with specific regard to security as part of the ISO27001 international security standard.
In addition our data centre colocation facility is audited annually by the local police counter terrorism department. Our customers can therefore be confident that their equipment is not only safe from physical and logical attack, but is also secure in its day to day operation. Our best practice procedures are embedded throughout MigSolvs’ organisation.

PCI DSS
MigSolv customers benefit from our accreditation to the PCI DSS standard. This means that customers holding payment card data can be assured that their data is in safe hands.
We have gone to great lengths to ensure that our Norwich based data centre is one of the most secure and resilient data centres in the world. Access to our data halls is via a combination of proximity card biometric iris recognition. Our racks are accessed via proximity card allowing only our customers to access their own equipment.
As well as our stringent access control measures, we have designed The Gatehouse facility with security in mind from the outset. Our CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioning) units can be maintained from dedicated corridors running down each side of the data halls, and our TIRs (Telecom Interchange Rooms) are segregated meaning that visiting telco engineers have no need to enter the data halls.
Our facility has site wide CCTV coverage with over 90 days of stored images. All systems relating to our PCI DSS compliance receive their time from two stratum 0 time sources meaning that all logs including CCTV and Access Control systems have accurate time stamps.
MigSolv has been operating and designing data centres and computer rooms for many years. Our experience has allowed us to build state of the art facilities that allow for effective but easy to operate data centres.
Our PCI DSS accreditation, combined with our ISO 27001 accreditation really does show that we take security seriously.
Our consultancy division has years of experiences in migrating customer equipment into data centres and computer rooms. We are ideally placed to move your business critical systems into our state of the art data centres.
